Kabor - Is a Sierra Leone based, A.W.A.K.E. partner program dedicated to grassroot development of women of all ages to support self-sufficience through vocational development in agriculture, art, and fashion.
Kushe' for Kombra - Traditionally when mothers deliver their babies; relatives, friends, neighbors and acquaintances, visit the proud parents following the first thirty days of the new born's life with gifts and words of encouragement to celebrate the arrival of a new family member. Unfortunately, poverty, malaria,
malnutrition, lack of post-natal care, poor quality water supply (in some areas) and illiteracy will claim 16 out of every 100 babies lives before their first birthdays. This program will provide care packages and information clinics to many young mothers around the country.
Sababoo - Is translated loosely as grace or blessing in Krio (Sierra Leone's - Lingua Franca). This program is a scholarship grant offered to financially disadvantaged secondary school seniors who consistently excel academically, to allow them the promise of a better life by financing their educational careers through the local University and colleges in the country, which should increase their future employment opportunities and the local economy.
Sorbeh - Means determination or perseverance in Krio. This program will offer young women, who are less academically inclined the opportunity to learn vocational skills which will help teach them hard and soft skills necessary to become economically independent members of society.
